Read this, taking a training with Khawar was awesome! This guy never took a peek at documentation or anything, he just knew the stuff, hands down, and corrected himself whenever he came up with a mistake once or twice in a whole week, yes, 7 days of 12 hours of Cisco Security training at its best. On the last day we were talking and he persuaded me of doing the Security track now that I had built some momentum, it seemed right, so back from training I talked to my professional advisor (aka wife) and she agreed, so I put a pause on all the RS efforts to start working towards the Security track using the workbook given at the bootcamp, which is great. I rented several hours at ccie2be.com and I recommend them big time, dealing with Dave has been very helpful and patient plus the equipment is just great.
It’s been 3 weeks since I started my Security lab preparation, and although I have not been able to schedule the written just yet I am pretty much ready to sit it as soon as I can afford it. So the strategy this time is pretty simple:
  1. Practice the individual techs exercises from the workbook (Modules 1- 5) several times, probably 3-4.
  2. Practice the full scale lab from the workbook (Superlabs 1-3) several times, maybe 4-5 times.

In the middle of it I need to schedule the written and pass it so I can get a date before the year is over. I’ll post later about my breakdown during the last 3 weeks as I took about 44 hrs total to finish my first round at the individual modules.
